Next Step Across Texas
It’s clear that charter school leaders are ready for a new robust statewide association. Participants at forums in Houston and Dallas want an organization that will unify leaders around common legislative goals, deliver cost saving services, and provide quality trainings. The Next Step now heads to other parts of the state to inform charter educators about this exciting new organization and garner further input from all charter school stakeholders.

Houston and Dallas Forums Show Strong Support
The Houston and Dallas Next Step Forums were a great success. The Charter School Policy Institute, the Resource Center for Charter Schools, and leaders from Charter C.H.O.I.C.E., the Coalition for Effective Charters (CEC), and Texas Charter Coalition (TCC) participated in the meetings.

Charter schools leaders from all types of schools shared their most pressing concerns, reacted to the business plan presented by The Next Step local hosts, and identified key advocacy goals. Participants enthusiastically endorsed the plan to build a strong association. Many were ready to join.

Chuck Cook welcomes participants to the Dallas Forum. “It’s time for us to come together to do the things we’ve not been able to accomplish on our own.”

Houston forum participants work together to identify key goals for new association.
